Clobazam (CLB)
1) The main possible mechanism: GABA-A receptor agonist.
2) Therapeutic indications: Relatively broad-spectrum antiepileptic drugs have a certain effect on various types of seizures.
3) Warning: Avoid it for patients with myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome and severe liver insufficiency. In addition, like clonazepam, considering its sedation (but lighter than clonazepam), it is rarely preferred at the beginning, mainly as an additional treatment in some cases of refractory epilepsy.
4) Dosage for children: Click to view the dosage for children of different ages and weights.
5) Major adverse reactions in children: Similar to clonazepam, it mainly has side effects such as drowsiness (but it is lighter than clonazepam). In addition, some patients will have dry mouth, constipation and loss of appetite. Furthermore, like clonazepam, it is easy to have certain dependence if taken in large quantities for a long time, and the withdrawal should be slow.
6) Interaction with other anti-epileptic drugs: Benzodiazepines, which also have obvious sedative effects, should be avoided as far as possible in combination.
7) Interaction with non-anti-epileptic drugs: Alcohol will increase its sedative effect and should be avoided.
