Lacosamide (LCS)
1) The main possible mechanism: selectively enhances slow inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels.
2) Therapeutic indications: mainly suitable for focal epilepsy.
3) Warnings: Patients with second-degree or third-degree atrioventricular block are contraindicated.
4) Dosage for children: Click to view the dosage for children of different ages and weights.
5) Major adverse reactions in children: Some patients may experience dizziness, nausea, and diplopia after use.
6) Interaction with other anti-epileptic drugs: When combined with carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital, the blood concentration of lacosamide will decrease.
7) Interaction with non-anti-epileptic drugs: Co-administration of drugs that affect heart conduction (such as sodium channel blockers, β-receptor blockers, calcium channel blockers, potassium channel blockers, etc.) needs to be cautious, and there may be a risk of bradycardia.
