Levetiracetam (LEV)

1) The main possible mechanism: Interaction with synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A).

2) Therapeutic indications: a broad-spectrum anti-epileptic drug. Considering that its main mechanism of action is different from some previous antiepileptic drugs, it was mainly used as an additive therapy in the past. In fact, it is now also used for single-drug therapy.

3) Warning: Suitable for add-on therapy. Be careful when using it on mental patients. This drug is prone to behavioral/emotional problems.

5) Major adverse reactions in children: Relatively few, some children will have some changes in behavior/emotion after using it.
